About this job
Yahoo Finance seeks a skilled video journalist to contribute to our original video production related to
business, financial, and economic news. A keen understanding of digital video storytelling and
optimization is essential.
In this role, you will produce deeply reported video features, news-pegged explainers, newsmaker
interviews, and recurring franchises. These Yahoo Finance originals will be expected to capture
viewers' attention through their sharp perspective, approachable style, and clear relevance to the
most significant investments and financial questions investors face.
We're seeking an editorially robust and creative storyteller who can engage digital video audiences in
all formats. The goal is to produce high-quality, news-making video content that helps viewers stay
informed about the latest market trends, business, and finance trends. Strong candidates will be
comfortable balancing various projects and deadlines while working with partners across the
newsroom.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere editing and comfortable editing video features and explainers on
deadlines will be required.

Responsibilities:
● Manage all aspects of video production, including, but not limited to, pitching, reporting, writing,
editing, shooting, and more to produce engaging informative videos.
● Regularly edit with Adobe Premiere and be comfortable editing on deadlines.
● Collaborate with reporters, DPs, studio, graphics, and more to elevate video storytelling.
● Write, report, and vet scripts with legal and standards teams.
● Coordinate with the social team to amplify shareable content.
● Vet, book, and pre-interview guests for Yahoo Finance.
● Research, develop, and implement successful SEO strategies.
● Meticulous fact-checking and strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy before publishing.
● Balance multiple projects with strong communication and collaboration.
● Complete additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
● At least 5-7 years of experience working in a daily video news environment.
● Proficient with Adobe Premiere editing software.
● Passionate about all things finance and investing, with an understanding of markets, business,
and investing strategies.
● Experience creating SEO-centric content and working in a digital news environment.
● Hands-on experience with CMS and digital publishing tools.
● Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required.
● Ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment.
● Ability to execute an efficient video production process to ensure clean, final delivery.
● Excellent time management skills and ability to easily balance priorities, multiple projects, and
tasks.
● Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
