The Distributor Sales Consultant will develop and maintain relationships with distributor accounts to influence Allegion market share for commercial hardware and electronic security solutions. This role will develop and maintain relationships with target customers through a consultative selling approach and regular pattern of calls to achieve company goals. In this role, you’ll have the ability to instantly contribute to a high performing team of sales professionals and experts in our industry. At Allegion, we take a consultative approach to selling in a team environment and our teams win together. Responsibilities include supporting direct account business partner initiatives to maximize sales results, coordinating with business partners to create demand, develop/execute strategy, and successfully close orders, participating in joint sales calls and training, attending trade shows and association meetings, developing and maintaining relationships with internal customers, working closely with team members to position Allegion to close, utilizing CRM to identify project opportunities and document activities, demonstrating skill in influencing across a matrixed environment, partnering with customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty, advising customers on product mix and promotions, following up on job quotes with distributors, maintaining industry knowledge, ensuring proper training on products, driving adoption of customer facing tools, using social networking to build relationships, and maintaining compliance with Allegion policies and values. Requirements include 5+ years sales or industry experience (B2B preferred), openness to development, high school diploma required (degree in Sales, Business or Marketing a plus), ability to have daily presence in the field, outstanding communication and follow-up skills, knowledge of door, frame and hardware or parallel business a plus, proficiency with MS Office, ability to learn industry software, demonstrated teamwork, excellent verbal and written communication, strong presentation skills, ability to travel 25% overnight, and residence within Greater Chicago, IL; NW Indiana or Western Wisconsin area.
