PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT) - Neurologic Resident Here is your opportunity to channel the full extent of your knowledge, skills, ambition, and experience on a daily basis. Inspire our patients to progress each day as you:
• Provide physical therapy treatment and patient care according to hospital, state and federal regulations and professional guidelines.
• Delegate tasks and supervise physical therapist assistants and technicians.
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with hospital departments to ensure that patient, staff and hospital needs are met.
• Help patients to regain control of their lives and their independence.
• Create an environment and a culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment.

We are looking for motivated clinicians with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and eligibility for licensure in Delaware. Experience with neurologic patient populations is preferred (either pre-graduation or post professionally). New graduates are encouraged to apply. APTA membership is expected.
This is a 14-month salaried position with full benefits that provides participants clinical and didactic education, as well as mentoring, in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting. Didactic education sources include the Neuroconsortium and Medbridge. Inter-professional opportunities within the hospital and across the continuum of care are to be provided.
Goals of the ABPTRFE Credentialed Residency Program include: - Develop high quality, evidence based physical therapy practice or consultation skills in services to the neurologic patient population
- Strengthen education to patients and caregivers in the areas of wellness, prevention and health promotion
- Develop clinical reasoning skills and critical inquiry to assess literature and provide education to Encompass Health staff
- Strengthen social responsibility and advocacy within the physical therapy profession

Credentials: • Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree, Eligibility for licensure in Delaware (Current state licensure before the first day of employment required).
• CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy.
• Successful completion of a degree from an accredited bachelor's or master's program, plus sufficient experience in the field essential.
• Demonstrated competence in physical therapy evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment.
• Effective communication skills for working with patients, families and caregivers required.
