Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management, from procurement and inventory control to production planning and supply chain management. The Materials Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility, utilizing their expertise in Lean manufacturing and supply chain management to drive efficiency and cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of materials procurement, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the procurement process.
- Develop and implement inventory control systems to ensure accurate tracking and management of materials and supplies.
- Utilize SAP to manage inventory levels, track orders, and analyze supply chain data.
- Collaborate with production planning to ensure that materials are available when needed.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency in the production process.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to optimize logistics and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Oversee the fabrication and processing of materials, ensuring that they meet quality and safety standards.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production schedules, and supply chain activities.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in materials management and supply chain operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve material usage.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that materials management aligns with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in materials management, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Experience with SAP and other inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with contract management and procurement processes.
- Understanding of supply chain management best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
